Bouygues Telecom will officially launch a new version of its fiber modem compatible with Wi-Fi 6E on April 25. This new router has already been distributed recently to hundreds of customers, but to be sure of getting it regardless of the sales channel, you will have to wait until April 25. It will be included in the Bbox Ultym offer at €46.99/month (first year at €28.99/month).
Externally, the device is identical to the Wi-Fi 6 router supplied to Bbox Ultym subscribers since 2020. The operator indicates that a new Wi-Fi card has been integrated into it. Wi-Fi 6E is an important evolution of Wi-Fi 6 since it exploits an additional frequency band (6 GHz) for high speed at short range. Recent Apple devices support Wi-Fi 6, but not Wi-Fi 6E.

Bouygues Telecom’s announcement today does not happen by chance: the operator wants to pull the rug out from under Orange, which will tomorrow present its Livebox 6, a priori compatible with Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E.
