Diablo Immortal: Blizzard changes its plans and surprises PC players


Last week, Blizzard lifted the veil on Dragonflightthe next extension of its MMORPG World of Warcraft. An expected extension which must repopulate the servers of this tenor of video games, on the decline for years. The American publisher has decided to chain the announcements with, this time, a focus on Diablo Immortal. And obviously, Blizzard changed its plans along the way, much to the delight of PC gamers.

On the occasion of one of its last BlizzCon, BlizzCon 2018, Blizzard unveiled Diablo Immortala mobile game in the universe of Diablo looking like Diablo III. In a climate where fans of the license were waiting for the announcement of a Diablo IVthis unfortunate mobile game has faced the lightning of the players. However, the lucky ones who were able to put their hands on this new title were won over. Water has flowed under the bridge since this event and the American publisher has been able to present, on several occasions now, both Diablo Immortal that Diablo IV.

And while the fourth big installment of the franchise is not ready to be released, fans can turn to Diablo Immortala game supposed to be released only on mobiles. But in a recent announcement, Blizzard revealed, via a trailer and an announcement on its site, that Diablo Immortal would still be released on PC. The reason ? Emulation.

The decision to develop Diablo Immortal on PC was the subject of long debate within the team for much of the development process. On the one hand, we felt like we wouldn’t be doing the title justice by releasing a game originally designed for mobile on PC; on the other hand, we wanted to make sure the game reached as many gamers as possible, especially our most dedicated fans on PC. In the end, the deciding factor was that we knew many of you would try to play this game through an emulator, which led us to build a better experience. Aware that part of his community would end up benefiting from Diablo Immortal on PC via an emulation in the vein of Bluestacks, Blizzard has decided to develop an adapted version itself.
