LG UltraFine 4K and 5K monitors are back in stock and on sale


Too expensive, Apple’s Studio Display sold from €1,749? The UltraFine 5K 27MD5KL-B is the only other 5K monitor on the market, making it a sought-after model despite a poor reputation for reliability. It has almost the same 27″ panel as the Studio Display, its peak brightness is just a bit lower (500 nits versus 600). It has a Thunderbolt 3 port delivering up to 94W to a MacBook and three USB-C ports Designed with Apple, it is natively controllable from macOS, which is not the case with other third-party monitors.

Its webcam and speakers aren’t as advanced as the Studio Display, and its design isn’t quite as sleek, but with it, you don’t have to add $460 for a height-adjustable stand.

Its little brother, the UltraFine 4K (24MD4KL-B) is also in stock and on sale on Amazon, at €701 instead of €749. It is also one of a kind, as it is the only 24″ 4K monitor on the market, when all other 4K displays are at least 27″. It also stands out for its connectivity consisting of two Thunderbolt 3 ports and three USB-C, and it can be controlled natively from macOS.
