Two years from the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Organizing Committee is working hard to fight against doping. The French Anti-Doping Agency (AFLD) calls for increased vigilance with young athletes, in particular.

Two years before the Paris Olympic Games, France is launching the anti-doping operation. The governing bodies of sport held their annual symposium on the issue on Thursday in Paris. Two years from the Games, France does not want to go through the fight against doping. She will therefore take serious measures.

“Anti-doping referents are mandatory in each federation”, explains Brigitte Nicaise, president of the French National Olympic and Sports Committee. “We will continue to ensure that the federations which were not yet in the nails in relation to this can have it. And we are going to animate this network of anti-doping referents for the next two years. And that’s it is, we are in battle order to do it. We cannot afford to have a subject in relation to doping during the Paris 2024 Games.

A call for vigilance among young people

Despite advice and prevention, young athletes do not remain insensitive to the mirages of doping products. Dominique Laurent, President of the French Agency for the Fight against Doping (AFLD), confides: “Over the past ten years, it has developed with young people. The idea is that the products were easily accessible because of access to the internet. We have to be even more vigilant now.”

Now, to limit the risks as much as possible, training as an anti-doping educator has been set up by the AFLD. The objective is for its educator to be trained and deployed in the field by the end of the year.
