For more than 25 years now, Pokémon has enchanted the lives of millions of players around the world. The versions follow one another, supported by the releases of films and series, in which Sacha and his faithful Pikachu travel the world through new adventures. Some have been immersed in this universe from the start and, therefore, know all the tricks. To increase the difficulty of the games, a player has developed a tool that should delight the biggest players.
the difficulty quickly escalating
For several years now, players have been complaining about the lack of difficulty in Pokémon. The progression is too easy, allowing the trainer to accumulate too much experience before accessing the last challenges. In addition, the opposing trainers struggle to represent a real challenge. Fights that often boil down to direct attacks devoid of strategy, when only the difference in level can really pose a challenge. But then again, the accumulation of experience is such that this scenario is unlikely, in the event that the trainer has not run directly to the Pokémon League to finish the game as quickly as possible.
To try to spice up this adventure a bit, a player had imagined a system of difficulty levels. Each level would thus affect the levels of the opposing Pokémon, the capture rates or the strategy used in combat. A significant addition that would add a little spice to these games whose difficulty is difficult to convince. To vary the pleasures, some players have taken the direction of the “randomizer”, allowing to randomly modify certain truths such as the types of Pokémon, their skills or even the wild Pokémon encountered in the tall grass.
Playing Pokémon in this way allows you to be confronted with unique situations, starting an adventure with a Machoc or even a Water Lilies. But big players sometimes want to go even further. To satisfy them, the YouTuber and pillar of the Pokémon scene on YouTube has developed a tool capable of randomly modifying the entire map of Pokémon Platinum. To note that Pokémon Emerald is also compatible.
This tool, highlighted both on Reddit and in a YouTube video posted on the PointCrow channel, will spice up every adventure like never before. As the video above explains visually, when entering a Poké Store, the player is thus transported randomly to another place in the Pokémon version. Completing this version can therefore be particularly difficult or relatively quick. It is worth noting the important paths, leading to badges, members of the Council of 4 or even the Champion of the League.
Eventually, this tool can be used in other versions of Pokémon. A field randomizer that can be found right here. Called “PointCrow Universal Map Randomizer”, this tool was created by AtSign, XLuma and Turtleisaac. Note that to use the randomizers, it is necessary to go through an emulated version of Pokémon.
