SilentKnight shows the build number of your Studio Display

You may know SilentKnight, a handy software that lets you know all the details of updates to your Mac. If Apple regularly offers new versions of macOS to download, it also publishes “silent” security updates that apply without you noticing. SilentKnight is therefore very useful to know if the fix for a major flaw has been applied and, from now on, the app will also be able to give you information on the internal software of your Studio Display.

Program developer Howard Oakley advises against downloading full updates through this software, as it was not designed to handle such large patches. Also, it doesn’t provide some essentials (like a progress bar).

SilentKnight may provide information about ” as many Studio Displays as he can find “. You can download this program for free from the developer’s site. The app is universal, weighs around fifteen MB and is available from macOS El Capitain.
