The 2022 edition of the annual Apple Developer Conference will be held from June 6 to 10. The announcement made today specifies that it will again be a WWDC to be followed remotely, without the presence of the main interested parties as for two years now.
The good side of the thing is that the 30 million Apple developers are equal, there are not those who can afford the trip and the stay (and who have been drawn) and the others. Unsurprisingly, WWDC22 will be the occasion for an inaugural keynote as well as the State of the Union, which describes in more depth some of the novelties of the year. Two events that will be organized on June 6.
A small departure from the virtual world, Apple will hold a special day on June 6 with developers and students at Apple Park – face-to-face, therefore – to watch the keynote and the State of Union. In addition, there will be a competition for students who are invited to submit their apps developed on Swift Playgrounds until April 25th.
Besides the usual demonstrations of major new releases of all of Apple’s operating systems, there’s a real expectation on hardware. The occasion seems to have been found for a curtain raiser on the first Apple Silicon Mac Pro. During the announcement of the Mac Studio, John Ternus, Apple’s hardware manager, did not fail to point out that this machine was still missing from the catalog for the transition from Intel to be completed.
