Epic games well feasted its subscribers during the end of year celebrations with its free games to download, and this every day since December 16. Epic is now back to its formula of a game per classic week available for account holders, who can thus expand their library for free. This week is not a, but three free games offered for start 2022 in the shoes of a true adventurer.

Tomb Raider GOTY Edition

After Godfall: Challenger Edition and Prison Architect at the beginning of December, Epic Games continues in its outpouring of generosity by releasing this time Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration (which includes the Season Pass as well as two DLC), Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, and Tomb Raider GOTY Edition, the reboot of 2013. For Lara Croft fans, this is a godsend.

In 2013, Crystal Dynamics decides to go back to basics by relaunching the license with this reboot of the adventures of Lara Croft. We discover the first steps of a younger and less experienced Lara, who will be roughed up throughout the adventure. At the turn of this more vulnerable heroine emerges a more edgy and spectacular gameplay, more action-oriented. The gunfights have thus been reworked to represent more challenge and enjoyment, the staging and the QTE come to sprinkle everything during more scripted phases. Obviously, the adventure is also at the heart of the game since it will involve increasing your gear to unlock new areas and thus progress.

The Game of the Year Edition includes Adventurer’s Tomb, 6 single player outfits for Lara, and 4 characters.

Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration

Two years after this reboot comes out Rise of the Tomb Raider, which is in line with its predecessor, both concerning the evolution of Lara Croft, now more badass, than in its gameplay, always action-oriented, and the staging always so breathtaking.

But unlike Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider proposes to craft his weapons by collecting the necessary resources throughout the adventure. More complete, the game gives pride of place to exploration, an essential component of everything tomb Raider, but which had been the source of discontent among players during the previous opus.

In this edition, the online Co-Op Endurance mode should delight gamers, as should the additional difficulty level “Survivor of the extreme”. The Season Pass also includes an outfit and weapons inspired by Tomb Raider III, plus 5 retro Lara Croft skins. Two DLC accompany this pack: Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch, and the extension Cold Darkness Awakened.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition

Never two without three. After the second part, comes out Shadow of the Tomb Raider, which, even if it remains faithful to the artistic direction taken since 2013, is distinguished by a more in-depth narration, not hesitating to echo the old video games of the license. Also, the game turns out to be much darker, the platforms aspect is more central, the infiltration phases are interesting, as are the puzzles. An opus that perfectly completes this trilogy that began in 2013.

This Definitive Edition brings new content to the base game with all 7 DLCs, as well as all downloadable weapons, outfits and skills.

BE CAREFUL, THINK OF DOUBLE IDENTIFICATION

As always, you may have trouble picking up the game from the Epic Games Store. But no worries, rest assured, it is quite simply on the side of the double identification that it is necessary to turn. Indeed, here is the step by step procedure to follow:

As for the next free games from the Epic Games Store, we will have to wait until January 6, 5 p.m., to know their identity.
