Plex Media Server offers optimized beta for M1 chips

We’ve been waiting for it, it’s finally here: Plex Media Server now has a native version for fuel computers with Apple Silicon chips. This is a universal version that will install on both M1 Macs and Intel models. This novelty can be downloaded at this link.

Transcoding speeds have been improved, although the devs note that it was already quite fast in Rosetta 2. If “ the change may not be significant ”, the program should be more stable and more efficient on the CPU side. This version being a beta, you will have to install it manually. Automatic update is not enabled for future releases.
