Skyrim: after 8 months, Bethesda’s RPG receives this surprise update

In November 2011 was released The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. A first release at least, the Bethesda RPG having been able to benefit from a PS4 / Xbox One edition five years later, a port on Nintendo Switch as well as an anniversary edition released in November 2021 on PC and old and new generation consoles. And now, 8 months after its last update, Skyrim is subject to some changes.

an iconic title

More than a decade after its initial release, Skyrim is still considered one of the most defining games of its generation. An open-world RPG that has democratized the genre, alongside tenors like The Witcher 3 and Dragon Age: Inquisition. Several tens of thousands of players continue to roam the lands of Skyrim regularly, thanks in particular to the content created by the community, which extends the life of the game in the long term.

Mods that sometimes take on the appearance of an extension, as their content is substantial. But Skyrim, it is above all a complete base game. In addition to its more or less problematic bugs, a usual feature of Bethesda productions, the RPG is able to occupy its players for hundreds of hours. In addition to its broad basic content, Skyrim saw the arrival of two large extensions, as well as a third, lighter one. Long hours of play available, in a universe as vast as it is interesting.

a new shift

And, although a decade has passed since the game’s initial release, Bethesda continues to update it. More sporadic updates than in the past, which have the merit of correcting problems reported by players. And after a last update in January, the American studio deployed an update on September 15th. A surprise update that does not turn the RPG upside down, but which nevertheless proves that the studio has not turned its back on its flagship game. Changes shared on the game’s official Discord:
